The 2024 US Chess Championship starts today at St. Louis, USA. The open section is with the participation of the whole US Olympic team which won the silver medals – reigning US Chess Champion Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Leinier Dominguez, Levon Aronian (silver board medal from the Olympiad), Ray Robson. They are joined by the villain in chess Hans Niemann, the 2024 US Open Champion Awonder Liang, Sam Sevian, Sam Shankland, Grigoriy Oparin, US Junior Champion Christopher Yoo, and wildcard Abhi Mishra. This year’s edition of the 2024 US Women Chess Championship will be one more clash of youth vs experience as the legendary Irina Krush and Anna Zatonskih are going to clash with medal winning youngsters Carissa Yip and Alice Lee and wild card Rose Atwell.
