The Davos Chess Festival 2022 will take place from 3-6 June, 2022 at the 4 stars Hotel Sunstar in Davos, Switzerland, just a few days after the World Economic Forum where the world’s top leaders from politics, business, civil society, academia, media and the arts meet to tackle global issues.
The Festival features two events: Challenge (for players rated 1600+) and Rising (for players rated U1600). Both events will be played in 7 rounds, swiss system, with time control of the Challenge event: 90 minutes + 30 seconds of increment, and time control of the Rising tournament: 60 minutes + 30 seconds of increment.
The total prize fund of events will be 10.110 CHF, with 9.000 CHF reserved for the Challengers tournament and 1.110 CHF prize pool of the Rising section. The top seeds of the Davos Chess Open Challenge 2022 are: GM Sandro Mareco, IM Li Min Peng, and GM Harshit Raja. (scroll down for the starting rank list of players)
