The European Senior Women Chess Championship 2024 is going to take place from October 24 to November 3 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The official hotel and the venue of the event is Bella Italia EFA Village.
The European Senior Women Chess Championship 2024 will be played in two age categories: 50+ and 65+. Each Championship will be played in 9 rounds, Swiss system, with the time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
The top players in the over 50 group are WGM Tatiana Grabuzova, WGM Marina Makropoulou, Daniela Iosif-Hoellenriegel, and WFM Olga Birkholz. In the O65 group top seeded is the legendary GM Nona Gaprindashvili.
