Kirill Shevchenko receives 75 days suspension by the Ethics Commission

FIDE informs, “Based on a request of Fair Play Commission to establish a prima facie case against GM Shevchenko, EDC had taken a decision to suspend the player for a period of 75 days from today’s date, i.e. until 1st January 2025 from any official activities as a player. The Ethics and Disciplinary Commission will be prepared to reconsider its decision regarding the provisional suspension if a motivated request to that effect is received from the player at any time within the next two (2) weeks. Meanwhile Fair Play Commission will continue its investigation.”

As a result Kirill Schevchenko is removed from the top seeded team of the European Club Cup 2024 and he is substituted by Ivan Skolov.
