Contrary to what history books say, Peter Hiene Nielsen says Ding – Gukesh is NOT the first World Championship match between players from Asia! Stepping on the premise that now Russia is part of the Asian Chess Federation, Nielsen jokes that the first match between two Asian players is Anand – Kramnik in 2008.
