PanAm Chess 2013 LIVE!

Texas Tech hosts for the very first time the premier college championship in North America, the Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship, from December 27-30. “The Panams” are open to all post-secondary schools in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The top four qualifying schools from the PanAms go on to compete in the Final Four of college chess, held in the spring. The winner is considered national champion and takes home the President’s Cup.

Top participants include GM Le Quang Liem, GM Georg Meier, GM Wesley So, GM Ioan Cristian Chirila, GM Valentin Yotov, GM Julio Sadorra, GM Hedinn Steingrimsson, GM Fidel Corrales Jimenez, GM Yaroslav Zherebukh, GM Ray Robson, etc.
