Rashid Nezhmetdinov
The 38th Nezhmetdinov Cup is scheduled to take place from May 31st to June 8th, 2016, at the Central Chess School in Kazan, Butlerova str. 7, Kazan, Russia.
It is a stage of the Russian Cup and will be played over 9 rounds under the Swiss system. The time control is 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment. No draw offers can be made before move 41.
The prize fund amounts to 759,000 RUB (approx 10,000 EUR). It will be distributed as follows: 1st – 140,000; 2nd – 110,000; 3rd – 80,000; 4th – 70,000, 5th – 60,000, etc.
There will also be prizes for local players, U-2450 Elo players, women, veterans and juniors.
Last year winner was GM Denis Khismatullin.
A parallel rapid event is scheduled on 29th-30th May, 2014. It will be a 9 round Swiss Open with a time control 15 minutes per player plus 5 seconds per move starting from move one and a total prize fund in the amount of 170,000 RUB.
Last year winner was GM Alexander Morozevich.
