Jose Camacho-Collados won the 2025 edition of the Welsh Chess Championship. He won the title achieving an impressive 6.5/7 score at the Welsh Chess Union (WCU) Championships. The silver medal is for Iwan Cave (who also became Welsh U21 champion) with 6,0/7, while the bronze is for FM Grzegorz Toczek with 5,0/7. The Welsh Ladies champion is Emma Zihan Kong, who finished with 3,5/7.
Jose Camacho-Collados, a Professor in the Cardiff University, is an International Master. He recently played on board 1 for Wales at the Chess Olympiad 2024.
