Tani Adewumi is US Chess Cadet Champion 2025

The 2025 U.S. Cadet Championship is an invitational chess tournament organized by the U.S. Chess Federation, featuring eight of the top American players under 16 years old. It is a round-robin event with a time control of G/90;+30 (90 minutes per player with a 30-second increment per move) and is FIDE-rated.

The 2025 tournament took place from June 19-22, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Lisle Naperville in Lisle, Illinois. IM Tanitoluwa Adewumi won the championship with a round to spare, defending his 2024 title. Tani Adewumi collected 6,0/7, a point more than the silver medalist Andrew Jiang. The bronze is for Rose Atwell with 4,5/7.
