The U.S. Championships deliver once again. As expected, the players returned to the board after the rest day with renewed energy and acute desire for winning.

The Nordic Championship for girls 2018 will be hosted by the Icelandic Chess Federation. The tournament and the accommodation will take place in Borgarnes (Hotel Borgarnes.Borgarnes is situated in the west coast of Iceland – 72 kilometres distance from Reykjavik.

The official invitation for the 43rd Chess Olympiad and 89th FIDE Congress is issued by the Batumi Chess Olympiad Organizing Committee.

On behalf of the Georgian Chess Federation and the Chess Olympiad Organizing Committee, it is my great honor to invite all FIDE member countries to 43rd Batumi Chess Olympiad and 89th FIDE congress, to be held from 23rd of September till 6th of October 2018 in Batumi, Georgia.

The 13th version of the Copenhagen Chess Challenge tournament is organised by one of the largest chess clubs in Denmark: “BMS Skak”. The tournament is played from Wednesday 25th of April and until and including Sunday 29th of April 2018, which is the weekend of the Danish holiday “Store Bededag” (Friday 12nd of April).

From 17 to 19 April 2018 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Kathmandu, Nepal by the Nepal Chess Association in cooperation with the Asian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Golden Gate College.

The Lecturer of the Seminar was IA Casto Abundo (PHI), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Khaiju Gyanendra (NEP). The lectures were in English language.

Round six of the U.S. & U.S. Women’s Chess Championships has brought important changes to the top of the standings and has cleared the path for what will surely be an explosive finish in the second part of the event.

The 2018 FIDE World School Chess Championships are being held from 21-29th April at Hotel Fafa in Durres, Albania.

A total of 387 participants from 40 federations are taking part in the event throughout twelve age categories from U7 to U17, boys and girls.

Today was a calm day in Saint Louis. The players seemed to have decided in unison to catch a breather, as eleven out of twelve games were drawn, with some of them being non-combative games. Let’s get right into the recap!

U.S. Championship

The fourth round couldn’t get any more shocking. Caruana lost after over pressing against the tenacious Izoria, while in the U.S. Women’s Championship the ladies were out for blood as they entertained the fans with six decisive results.

The 18th Bangkok Chess Club Open was held in the Regent Cha-am Beach Resort from 13-21 April 2018. In total almost 350 players took part, with around 240 playing in the main 9-round open.
