In a quiet day at the top, Grand Swiss leader Parham Maghsoodloo agreed to a draw with Arjun Erigaisi. The same score was achieved by their closest competitors, as Matthias Bluebaum and Abhimanyu Mishra also finished with a peaceful result.

In chess history, few achievements stand out as dramatically as defeating a reigning World Champion in a classical over-the-board game. Defeating a reigning title holder, undisputed or FIDE-recognized, is a rare feat on its own.
