After four round of play in the Men’s Cup of Russia stage, the main event of the RSSU Chess Cup Moscow Open 2016, three players are in joint lead with perfect score – Urii Eliseev (Moscow), Vasiliy Korchmar (Saratov) and Oleg Ivanov (Ukraine).

The 7th Southwest Class Championships will be held from February 11-15, 2016, at the DFW Airport Marriott South, 4151 Centreport Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

The event has 7 sections: Master, Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E. The Master Section is a 9-round Swiss over 5-day schedule (February 11-15) with GM and IM norms available.

The 6th Ferdowsi Open Tournament 2016 is taking place from January 28th to February 5th, in the city of Mashdad, Iran.

The event is organized by the Khorasan Chess Association in a 9-round Swiss format with time control 90′ + 30″.

A total of 18 players from 18 different federation take part in the tournament, including 7 GMs and 2 IMs.

Top seed is Armenian player GM Karen Grigoryan (2602).
