23 orphans from boarding houses of Sverdlovsk Region took part in a simul given by 2014 Russian champion Igor Lysyj.

The event took place in Sila Voli mall in Ekaterinburg, and was organized by Svoi Deti charity fund, Sila Voli management, and Sverdlovsk Region Chess Federation sponsored by Penetron Russia group of companies.

The World Amateur Chess Championships 2016 will be held from 18-28th April, 2016, in Halkidiki, Greece on the northern coast of the Aegean Sea.

The Australian Chess Championship 2016 will be held in the Fitzroy Town Hall, Melbourne, from the 2nd of January to the 12th of January.

The event is a 11 round swiss tournament with a $14000 prize fund. The tournament presence will be 34 players – 2 GMs and 14 IMs will be part of the chess spectacle. 

The Russian Rapid Final 2015 is taking place from December 12-16, in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia.

The event is a 16-player single round-robin tournament with prize fund in the amount of 1,200,000 RUB.

The 7th Penang Heritage City International Chess Open 2015 took place from December 7-12, at RedRock Hotel, in Penang, Malaysia.

The event was a 9-round Swiss open with tempo of play 90 + 30″ which gathered 119 players from 17 different countries.

GM Andrei Volokitin is the 2015 Chess Champion of Ukraine.

The 2nd Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival is taking place from December 12-20, 2015, in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain.

GM Klaus Bischoff (2494) wins the 86th German Championship title after tiebreakers. The event took place in the Hermann-Neuberger sports school in Saarbrücken. It was 9 round swiss event with 36 players.

The Russian-Chinese chess tournament Match of Friendship 2015 will take place on December 13-15 in Shanghai.
