2nd Etna Chess Festival to be held in December

After a very successful first edition, the Etna Chess Festival comes back again to Hotel Biancaneve in Nicolosi, on the slopes of the volcano, for its second edition.

The 4th Memorial Gonzalez is taking place from October 10-18, 2015, in Madrid, Spain.

The event is a 9-round Swiss open with tempo of play 90′ + 30″. 73 players from 16 different countries take part in the tournament, including 11 GMs, 1 WGM, 7 IMs, 13 FMs and 2 WFMs.

Top seed is GM Robert Hovhannisyan (2630) from Armenia.

GM Sandro Mareco is 2015 Argentina champion

GM Sandro MarecoThe 90th Argentinian Absolute Final Chess Championship took place from September 30 to October 14, 2015, in Villa Martelli, Buenos Aires.

The event was a 13-round closed tournament that gathered the strongest Argentinian chess players.

1st ECU Congress concluded in Bar, Montenegro

The 1st ECU Congress took place on 10th October in St. Nikola Castle in Bar/Montenegro.

The opening ceremony was held with the presence of the ECU and FIDE officials, representatives of Montenegro Chess Federation, Montenegro Government institutions, European Chess Federations as well as the representatives of the media.
