Mind Sports Games Chess 2013, rapid (women) LIVE!

The Mind Sports Games Chess 2013 is going to take place 11-19 December in Beijing, China. It will be one of the strongest rapid and blitz events of the year with the participation of some of the world’s top grandmasters.

In the women section participants are Yifan Hou, Humpy Koneru, Anna Muzychuk, Nana Dzagnidze, Kateryna Lagno, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Antoaneta Stefanova, Valentina Gunina, Ju Wenjun, Marie Sebag, Zhao Xue, Tatiana Kosintseva, Pia Cramling, Anna Ushenina, Elizabeth Paehtz, and Viktorija Cmilyte.

5th London Chess ClassicToday is a special day at London Chess Classic, with an exciting mix of events. Early in the morning Pro-Am Cup and Pro-Business Cup started (scroll down for information and stay tuned for updates on the results) where in both amateurs and businessmen players played team chess with professionals.

Asian Seniors and Amateur Championships 2013

The Royal Jordanian Chess Federation, on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation, invites your players to participate in the Asian Seniors and Amateur Championships 2013.

The Championships will be held from 24th January to 2nd February 2014 in Amman, Jordan.

The Asian Amateur Championship is open to all eligible players who shall have no FIDE Title or published FIDE Rating above 2000 at the start of the tournament nor had such a Rating for at least 2 years prior to the start of the event.

Three players share first place in Memorial Edoardo Crespi

The 34th Memorial Edoardo Crespi took place from 30th November to 8th December in the large tournament hall of Chess Club in Milan, via Sant’Uguzzone 8.

The main event was Master Group which was played over nine rounds of Swiss system.

Ivan Ivanisevic Wins Rapid Tournament in Sabac

Sabacki Chess Club organized the “Cedomir Petrovic Memorial” rapid tournament on 7th December in Sabac, Serbia.

The tournament format was 9-round Swiss with the time control 15 minutes per player. 133 players, including 11 Grandmasters, took participation.

Top Serbian player GM Ivan Ivanisevic emerged clear winner with 7,5/9 points. Standings below.

Zadar Open 2013

Zadar Open 2013 is scheduled to take place on 15-21st December at the Falkensteiner Hotels & Resorts Borik in Zadar, Croatia.

The tournament is organized by the Croatian Chess Federation and Chess Federation Zadar and will be held in two Groups – Open A for players rated above 2200 FIDE and Open B for players rated U2300 FIDE.

The tournament format is 9-round Swiss. The total prize fund is 10,200 EUR, with 2200 EUR reserved for the winner of Open A and 500 EUR for the winner of Open B.

GM Vladimir Belous with perfect score in Bondarevsky Memorial

The Rostov Region Chess Federation organized Bondarevsky Memorial from 30th November to 8th December to mark 100 years since the birth of the legendary Grandmaster.

The tournament was held at the Chekhov chess club in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. 71 players competed.

Women’s Invitational Chess Tournament, part of LCC 2013

Women’s Invitational Chess Tournament is part of London Chess Classic 2013 festival. The tournament is taking place 7-15 December. Participants are IM Irina Bulmaga (ROU), IM Dagne Ciuksyte (ENG), WIM Judith Fuchs (GER), WIM Veronica Foisor (ROU), WFM Sarah Hegarty (ENG), WGM Kruttika Nadig (ENG), and they play a double round robin event.
