Li Haoyu has received a 6 months worldwide ban by the FIDE Ethics and Disciplinary commission.

FIDE Ethics and Disciplinary commission has come to a final decision on the Christopher Yoo Case No. 6/2025 – “Alleged harassment of a female player”. The EDC Chamber, composed of Ali Nihat Yazici (Chairperson) and Khaled Arfa and Olga Baskakova (Members) have found Cristopher Yoo guilty and 18 month ban, 12 months of which is suspension, has been imposed. A fire has broken out at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Chennai, the venue of the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025. All players are safe, but had to be relocated temporary to another hotel. The round has been postponed for a day and the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters will start Thursday August 7.
