This triumph added 6.0 Elo points to his rating, elevating his FIDE rating to 2632.0 and positioning him at the virtual 98th rank globally.

The Indian player and world number 1 junior girl Divya Deshmukh is at the World Chess Cup final after a roller coaster game against Women World Chess Championship match finalist Tan Zhongyi.

In an interview right after the game, Divya Deshmukh said, “I was winning at a certain point and then it got complicated. I think I messed up in he middlegame and I think I should have had a much smoother win. Tan put up such a good fight at a certain point.” Divya also added for the fans, “Thank you so much for all your love and support”

Chess Federation of Russia, “Expected reaction of our enemies”

The Chess Federation of Russia has commented the indignation of the European chess union (ECU) regarding FIDE Council’s decision to approve the participation of a team of athletes of Russian nationality in the 2025 Women’s World Team Championship under the FIDE flag. This opinion was expressed for TASS by the Executive Director of the Chess Federation of Russia CFR Alexander Tkachev.
