The 2022 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships take place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) between Sunday, the 25th of December and run through until Friday, the 30th of December.

The German Team Club Championship U12 is taking place from 27-30 December 2022 in Munich. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

The 2022 FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship concluded today in Almaty, Kazakhstan after three days of fights over 13 rounds. Magnus Carlsen emerged as the sole Winner of the event, clinching his 4th World Rapid Champion title.

The 2022 FIDE Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship concluded today in Almaty, Kazakhstan after three days of fights over 11 rounds. It was a spectacular finish of with the playoff determining the gold medalist in the event as Dinara Saduakassova and Tan Zhongyi tied for the top with 8.5 points, each. Tan Zhongyi won the playoffs clinching the Women’s World Rapid Champion title.

The German Team Club Championship U14 is taking place from 27-30 December 2022 in Kelheim. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

The World Rapid Chess Championships concluded with another world title for Carlsen. Tan Zhongyi is first among women after winning a tiebreaker.

After three days of play, the World Rapid Chess Championships ended in Almaty. Following 13 rounds in the Open section, Magnus Carlsen came out on top, with 10/13. It is his fourth chess crown in the rapid. He had already triumphed in 2014, 2015 and 2019. Magnus also was second in 2012 (in Astana) and third in 2016 and 2021.

The German Team Club Championship Girls U16 is taking place from 27-30 December 2022 in Neumünster.

Magnus Carlsen clinched his fourth World Rapid Champion title today in Kazakhstan. Being asked “when will he stop winning world titles” at the press conference after the games, Carlsen responded: “I’ll stop when somebody stops me“.
