The 3rd edition of the El Llobregat Open Chess Tournament 2022 takes place from November 30 to December 8 in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain gathering 50 grandmasters, 44 international masters and a total of 172 players fighting for the prize fund of 29.500eur!

The TCEC Season 23 Subfinal is a bonus 3rd-place match between the loser of the Superfinal (Lc0) and the winner of the Infrafinal (Komodo Dragon), played with the same opening book as the Superfinal. It ended with a decisive victory for Lc0, +24 -13 =63. Most viewers predicted a Lc0 win by +1 to +5, so this +11 margin of victory is a surprise. Still, few could have predicted how the Subfinal would turn out based on the start of the match.

The Girl’s “The Game has begun!” is taking place from 29 November to 7 December 2022 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is a 10-player round-robin tournament with Anna Zhurova, Alisa Nur-Mukhametova, Mariam Mkrtchyan, Kseniya Zeliantsova, Leya Garifullina, Olga Dm. Karmanova, Yana Zhapova, Yulia Grigorieva, Ekaterina Goltseva and Viktoriya Loskutova.
