The Schachbundesliga 2022/2023 is German National Team Chess Championship which attracts some of the world’s top chess players. The league features 16 teams competing in 15 round-robin rounds. The season is split into six weekend double rounds and rounds 11-15 are played in one long seeking in Berlin. The time control of the event is 100 minutes for the first 40 moves + 50 minutes for the rest of the game, with 30 seconds increment for each move starting from the move one.

Indian grandmaster S.L. Narayanan is currently competing in the German Schachbundesliga – one of the world’s top chess leagues. After today’s game, Narayanan posted on his official twitter account that he felt humiliated during the anti-cheating checks which happened before the round.

97th Argentine Championship is taking place from 1-10 December 2022 in Rio Negro, Argentina. It is a 10-player Round-robin tournament. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

Pool B of the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament is hosted in the ancient city of Khiva, in Uzbekistan.

The 2022 National Chess Championship of Serbia will take place from 6-14 December in Bajina Basta, concurrently with the Serbian Women’s Chess Championship 2022. It will be a 10-player round-robin tournament, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes till the end of the game, and increment of 30 seconds per each move starting from the move one.

Pool B of the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament will be held from November 28 to December 11 in the ancient city of Khiva, in Uzbekistan. This bracket will see the clash between the 2020 runner-up Aleksandra Goryachkina, Alexandra Kosteniuk and Tan Zhongyi as the top finishers at the FIDE World Cup 2021, and Kateryna Lagno as one of the top-three finishers at the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2019–2021.

The 2022 FIDE World Senior Chess Championships concluded yesterday in Assisi – Umbria. The event was held from 14-27 November in Assisi – Umbria Italy, and it was played in two age categories: 50+ and 65+, 11 rounds, swiss system. Women’s sections were merged with the Open tournament and the best-ranked female players were crowned as the FIDE World Senior Women’s Champions.
