After seven played rounds at the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 India’s women’s team is the only one remaining with the perfect score and all 7 won matches. India has 14 match points and a 2-match-point advantage over Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia who tie for the second place.

The thrilling top-board match between the leaders of the Open section Armenia and USA finished in a draw with the 2-2 result. The USA team had a lead and a great chance to score against Armenia, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Only two teams remain perfect at the 2022 Chess Olympiad in Chennai. Armenia and India emerged on the top with the maximum 12 match points of the Open and Women’s sections, respectively. Armenia today meets USA, with Aronian taking an extra day off, while India faces Azerbaijan in the Women’s section.
