On 30th September 2016, the Bulgarian Chess Federation filled an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the European Chess Union General Assembly on 10th of September 2016 to expel the Bulgarian Chess federation from the European Chess Union.

The 47th International Chess Tournament “Bosna 2017″ is scheduled to take place from 13-19th May at the Hotel Saraj in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The tournament is sponsored by Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canton Sarajevo, Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Civils Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, City of Sarajevo and Center Municipality.

The total prize fund is 15,400 EUR, divided in 42 prizes. 160 players from 12 countries are registered to participate.

World Championship challenger Sergey Karjakin has signed his seventh sponsorship contract, becoming the ambassador of the brand BC “Fonbet”.

Manager Kyrillos Zangalis announced on facebook that another three large corporations are in negotiations with Karjakin team.
