The George Washington Open will be held from February 26-28, 2016, at the Hyatt Dulles, 2300 Dulles Corner Blvd, Herndon, Virginia.

The event has 5 sections: Open, Under 2100, Under 1800, Under 1500 and Under 1200. Each section has either a 3-day schedule (February 26-28) or 2-day schedule (February 27-28) to participate in.

The tournament format is 5 round Swiss with the time control 40/110, SD/30, d10 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/60, d10).

The event has a guaranteed prize fund of $13,000.
