Peru Grand Prix Final 2016 LIVE!

The 2016 Peru Grand Prix Final is taking place from January 18-24, in Peruvian capital Lima.

The event is a 12-player single round robin tournament, organized by the Peruvian Chess Federation, with an average Elo rating of 2388. The first three players will qualify for the Peruvian Olympic team.

The 8th Chennai Open 2016 for Sakthi Group Dr. N. Mahalingam Trophy is taking place from 18-25 January, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadiumin in Chennai, India.

The event is a 10-round Swiss FIDE tournament with the participation of 217 players from 11 different countries.

Top seed is Russian player GM Boris Grachev (2652).

The event is a 10-player single round robin tournament for women with an average rating of 2239.

DIS 2016 Australian Women’s Masters – Round 3

Round three of the Australian Women’s Masters which is taking place from January 14-22, 2016, in Melbourne, saw the leaders move further away from the rest of the players, with three players now clear of the rest of the field. Xiaobing Gu is outright leader with 3/3, with Deimante Daulyte in outright second with 2.5/3 & Ticia Gara in outright third on 2/3.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Stockholm, Sweden

From 5 to 6 January 2016 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Stockholm, Sweden, by the Swedish Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The Lecturer was IA Omar Salama (ISL), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Thór Gudmundur Sverrir (SWE).

The venue of the Seminar was the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm.

The lectures were in English language.
