IM Kanan Izzat from Azerbaijan wins it all in the 2016 Australian Chess Championship, staying half a point ahead of all other competitors.

Upsets galore in the premier group of 14th edition of Parsvnath Delhi International Chess festival as R A Pradeep Kumar caused another flutter, gaining the upped hand over Grandmaster Artur Gabrielian of Russia in the fourth round that just concluded.

The 76th Armenian Championship will take place from January 12 to January 23 in the capital city of Yerevan. It features 12 of the greatest Armenian chess minds battling it out Round Robin style in 11 rounds with time control of 90′/40+30′+30″ per move.

Belarus Chess Championships are now under way and continues through till January 19th. With the fourth round’s conclusion, IM Vitaly Meribanov and GM Vladislav Kovalev are in the lead, with 3 points each. They have also achieved 2 victories and two ties so far, giving them the best tiebreakers in the group.
