The European Youth Chess Championship 2015 is taking place from September 20 through September 30, in the touristic town of Porec, situated on the western coast of Istrian Peninsula, Croatia.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament. The winners in each category (Boys U8, Boys U10, Boys U12, Boys U14, Boys U16, Boys U18 and Girls U8, Girls U10, Girls U12, Girls U14, Girls U16, Girls U18) will be awarded the title 2015 European champion.

After the end of the 3rd round of the FIDE World Cup GM Ian Nepomniachtchi submitted a complaint to the Appeals Committee in regard to the Armageddon game with GM Hikaru Nakamura.

The seven pairs of players who tied their round three matches with the classical time control returned to the playing hall at the Fairmont Flame Towers in Baku to settle the scores in the rapid and blitz games.

A press-conference with the Tournament Director of the FIDE World Cup 2015 and Chess Olympiad 2016 Mahir Mamedov was held in the Fairmont Hotel. Speaking to Goran Urosevic, World Cup Press Officer, M. Mamedov shared his impressions about the tournament and provided some insight about the preparation for the event.

The last 8th FIDE World Online Women Blitz Qualifier is going to be held on Thursday, September 24th, at 13:00 GMT/UTC time. 56 players have already qualified for the Semifinal and only 8 spots are still available.

The 2015/2016 edition of German Bundesliga has started.

Top players are GM Li Chao 2756 (Schwabisch Hall), GM Alexei Shirov 2712 (Baden-Baden).

The return games of the third round of the 2015 FIDE World Chess Cup were completed in the Fairmont Flame Towers in Baku.

The sevenh qualifier of the unique FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015 was being played on Thursday, September 17th, on the official FIDE Online platform.

The third round of the 2015 FIDE World Chess Cup was held today at the Fairmont Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, with 32 players that remained in the competition.

The elo differences between the players were not as big as in previous rounds, and consequently many games were drawn.

The FIDE International Organizers Seminar was held from 28-30th August in conjunction with the Uganda Chess Federation with the endorsement of the African Continent and the FIDE Events Commission.

28 new organizers from East African countries participated in this seminar. The main goals of the seminar were to motivate, provide knowledge and create an environment for the new organizers to run chess tournaments and event in East Africa.
