The second leg of the WGP Series, after the FIDE Tbilisi Women Grand Prix 2024 is now underway. WGP Series consists of six Women’s Grand Prix tournaments held over two years 2024-2025. The tournament structure is 10 rounds-Robin.

The game showcased is from Round 3 – Deshmukh Divya – Aleksandra Goryachkina.

England’s record-breaking crop of chess talents scored another incredible milestone this week when nine-year-old north London schoolboy Ethan Pang became the youngest-ever to pass the 2300 rating mark in an official list and earn the FIDE Master (FM) title.

Luis Emmanuel Rubiano Peralta is the winner in the Juegos Intercolegiados Distritales Bogota 2024, an interschool chess competition in Colombia. Peralta achieved a perfect 6 points in as many rounds, the same as second place Ian Samuel Beltran Serna, the two separated by tiebreakers alone. Third place is for Angel David Sepulveda Bello, who scored 5 points. The final standings in the Juegos Intercolegiados Distritales Bogota 2024 are avaialble below.

The Dov Porat Memorial 2024 Blitz is happening on November 1 in Israel. The tournament now features more than 80 players, several times more than shown in our preview, who will compete in 11 rounds Swiss. Perla de la Frontera or Frontier Pearl in Mexico has concluded and victory is in the hands of Jose Fernando Cuenca Jimenez. Jimenez scored a near perfect 6.5 points in 7 rounds, yet he was closely followed byIsaac Antonio Garcia Guerrero and Miguel Tadeo Palma Villanueva at second and third place respecitively.
