Tajfun SK Ljubljana wins the European Women’s Chess Club Cup

TAJFUN SK Ljubljana emerged as the sole Winner of the 28th European Women’s Chess Club Cup after defeating the top seeded Cercle d’Echecs de Monte-Carlo in the last round. The match finished with 2.5-1.5 result, as three games concluded in a draw, and IM Olga Badelka (2430, TAJFUN SK Ljubljana) prevailed against IM Sarasadat Khademalsharieh (2478, Cercle d’Echecs de Monte-Carlo). Scoring 13 match points, TAJFUN SK Ljubljana was one match point ahead of the runner-ups.

Novy Bor Chess Club is the winner of the European Chess Club Cup 2024 with the amazing 13 points. But the fight for the rest of the medals was epic. Vados Chess Club from Arad (Romania), who has just won the 3rd place at the European Club Cup in Serbia, despite starting as a 13th seed in a field of 84 squads. The World Youth Chess Championship 2024 is scheduled to take place in Floripa, Brazil, 28 October – 10 November. The event will be for U14, U16, and U18 categories, boys and girls respectively.

In the U14 open category the top contenders for the title are Pawel Sowinski, Edgar Mamedov, Sauat Nurgaliyev, Patryk Cieslak, Havard Haug, Kiet Dinh Nho, Haochen Jiang, etc.

World Youth Chess Championship 2024 LIVE

The World Youth Chess Championship 2024 is scheduled to take place in Floripa, Brazil, 28 October – 10 November. The event will be for U14, U16, and U18 categories, boys and girls respectively.

The venue of the event is Hotel Canasvieiras IN, Florianópolis (SC) – Brazil. The tournament will be played using the Swiss System with 11 rounds. The rate of play will be in accordance with the FIDE rules: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves plus 30 minutes to rest of the game, with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

World Chess Championship 2024 – the ratings

The World Chess Championship 2024 – Gukesh vs Ding Liren is set to take place between November 25 and December 13, 2024, in Singapore. This event will feature a match between the reigning world champion, Ding Liren from China, and the challenger, Gukesh Dommaraju from India, to determine who will be the World Chess Champion 2024.

The Merv Morrison Memorial 2024 is being held from October 25 to October 28 in New Zealand in the Auckland Chess Centre. The tournament’s 21 participants will compete in 6 rounds of Swiss, with two rounds per day.
