FIDE World Chess Championship 2024 is in Singapore

The FIDE World Chess Championship 2024 will be a 14 games match between the reigning world champion Ding Liren and the challenger Gukesh D to determine the World Chess Champion. The match is scheduled to take place between November 23 and December 15, 2024, with Singapore hosting the match.

Mahdi Gholami Orimi is the winner of the strong open chess tournament Spilimbergo 2024. IM Mahdi Gholami Orimi finished with 7,0/9, the same points but better tiebreak than GM Marcin Tazbir and IM Kundu Kaustuv.

The rating favorite Daniel Dardha shared 4th position with Pier Luigi Basso, Oskar Wieczorek, Marius Fromm, Mattia Pegno, Pawel Sowinski, Azer Mirzoev, Edoardo di Benedetto, and Irakli Akhvlediani.

The North American Junior Chess 2024 is taking place 14 – 18 August in Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre, Alberta, Canada. A total of 124 players participate in the open section and 36 in the girls section. Top seeded players are Liran Zhou, Jason Liang, Laurie Qiu, Samrug Sarayanan, Sahana Aravindakshan, Jonathan Han, Chloe Gaw, etc. The event is 9 Rounds Swiss System, Game in 90 minutes plus 30 second increment per move starting from Move 1.
