The 37th European Chess Club Cup and the 26th European Women’s Club Cup concluded yesterday in Mayrhofen, Austria, with Novy Bor Chess Club clinching the title in the Open section and ASVOe Pamhagen winning the Women’s tournament. Hans Niemann drew against Leinier Dominguez in the fifth round of the US Chess Championship. Hans seemed to be in trouble after the opening, but managed to convert the position into a very drawish endgame with an exchange down (Replay the game here).

FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Championship over-the-board final will take place in the Berjaya Reykjavik Natura Hotel, Iceland, from 25-30 October 2022. The overall prize fund of the final in the Icelandic capital amounts to a whopping 400,000 USD and eight players will have a shot at the 150,000 USD first prize and the FIDE Fischer Random World Champion title.
