Italy wins Mitropa Chess Cup 2021

Italian Chess Federation teams dominated the Mitropa Chess Cup 2021 topping both Open and Women’s sections!

Three teams tied for the first place in Open section after 8 played rounds: Italy, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Eventually, Italy and Slovakia scored in the last round to tie for the top. One board point difference decided that gold goes to Italy, while Slovakia came second!

Accedia Chess Masters 2021

Accedia Chess Masters 2021 is going to start this May 15th in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event is organized by Chess Club Elit and Chess Club En Passan, and will be a 262 players over-the-board event with 11 GMs and 29 titled players.

Top seeded are GM Ivan Cheparinov, GM Ivan Salgado, and GM Boris Chatalbashev. Top seeded women player is WGM Adriana Nikolova.

Nicaragua Chess Championships 2021

Nicaragua Youth Chess Championships 2021 concluded a few days ago and Youth National Champions of sections U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 were announced.

After 6 played rounds in each category, the Winners are:
