A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 3 to 9 October 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece, by the Chess Club of “Galaxias” and the Chess Academy of Sykeon-Neapolis, in cooperation with the Greek Chess Federation and the Thessa

The Dutch Open Chess Championship 2016 is going to take place July 26 – August 4. The tournament is divided in various groups. The Dutch Open top group is headed by GM Erwin L’Ami, GM Dmitri Reinderman, GM Chanda Sandipan, GM Igor Khenkin, GM Vyacheslav Ikonnikov, GM Csaba Horvath, GM Daniel Hausrath, GM Roeland Pruijssers, GM Debashis Das, GM Leonid Milov, IM Shagar Shah, etc.

The 15th Annual Manhattan Open will be held from July 29-31, at the Hotel Pennsylvania, 401 Seventh Ave., New York, USA.

The event has 6 sections: Open, Under 2200, Under 1900, Under 1600, Under 1300 and Under 1000. Each section has either a 3-day schedule (July 29-31) or 2-day schedule (July 30-31) to participate in.

The playing format is 5-round Swiss with time control 40/100, SD/30, d10 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60, d10).

The German Chess Federation, ZMDI Chess Festival Dresden and UKA Meissen are organizing the German Masters 2016 from 30th July to 7th August in Dresden.

The tournament will be a ten-player round robin with top German female players and will serve as a good warm-up for the Chess Olympiad in Baku.
