1st Thailand Open Rapid Chess Championship 2015

The first ever Thailand Open Rapid Chess Championship took place from 3-4 October 2015 in Nakhon Sawan, which is both the capital and also the central province best known as the meeting place of four major rivers including the mighty Chao Phraya, and is a pleasant and comfortable three hour drive north from Bangkok.

Isle of Man International – Round 1 Video

The 2nd Isle of Man International Chess tournament started with 104 chess players from 27 countries and with as many as 37 Grandmasters in the field. GM Michael Adams is the top seed followed by India’s 2nd highest player Pentala Harikrishna.

The ceremonial first move on the Top Board was made by the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Allan Bell.

Unique achievement of IM Cemil Can

At the recently ended European Youth Chess Championship 2015 in Porec, young and talented Turkish International Master Cemil Can Ali Marandi (2422) won gold in category Boys U18, but this wouldn’t be a big surprise, hadn’t it crowned a whole youth career.

FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2015 LIVE!

The first leg of the Women’s Grand Prix Series 2015 – 2016 takes place in Monte Carlo from October 2-16.

The event will be held at the famous Casino of Monte Carlo. Prize fund is 60.000 euros, with 10.000 for the winner. A further 15,000 euros goes towards an accumulated fund for the overall best placed women.
