The rules of Grenke Chess 2025 allow players to switch from Classical to Freestyle after round 4. By switching, the players keep the points and new pairings are constructed. Rasmus Svane is a Danish-German chess grandmaster, born on May 21, 1997, in Allerød, Denmark, and currently living in Lübeck, Germany. He represents Germany in international competitions, including the European Team Chess Championship and the Chess Olympiad. As of September 2023, he is the No. 5 ranked German player with a FIDE rating of 2621, peaking at 2651 in May 2022. Svane learned chess at age 4 and achieved notable early success, winning the German U14 Chess Championship in 2010. He earned the International Master title in 2013 and the Grandmaster title in 2016 at age 19.
