BREAKING: Magnus Carlsen will not defend his World Champion title

Magnus Carlsen has declined to defend his FIDE World Champion title. The news was announced by Carlsen himself in a sponsor’s podcast. “I have informed my team, FIDE and Ian [Nepomniachtchi] that I will not play the upcoming World Championship match in classical chess”, says Carlsen and adds that “I am not motivated to play another World Championship match.”

1000 GM/IM St. Louis Tournaments LIVE

The 1000 GM/IM St. Louis Norm Tournaments take from 19-23 July in Saint Louis, Missouri. Both IM and GM events will be played in 9 rounds, round-robin system. The time control will be: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
