Tigran L. Petrosian wins Ashot Anastasyan Memorial

The Ashot Anastasyan Memorial rapid chess tournament took place on July 10th at the Tigran Petrosyan Chess House in Yerevan. The event was dedicated to the memory of Ashot Anastasian, an Armenian chess Grandmaster who won two team bronze medals and one individual gold medal at Chess Olympiads.

The 2022 Biel Rapid Chess Tournament took place yesterday at the Main stage of the Concert Hall, Biel Congress Center within the Biel International Chess Festival 2022. The event attracted 78 entries who competed over 9 swiss rounds, with time control: 15 minutes + 5 seconds of increment.

European Women Individual Chess Championship 2022 – List of participants

The European Women’s Individual Chess Championship 2022 will be held from 19th August – 1st September in Prague, Czech Republic. The event will be played in 11 rounds, Swiss system, with a total prize fund of 60 000 eur.

FTX Road to Miami reaches its elimination day

Sam Sevian pulled off a dramatic win in the last game of the day to stay ahead in the FTX Road to Miami as the elite $150,000 esports event reaches its elimination day. The rookie American, 21, had seen Indian teenager Arjun Erigaisi score three straight wins to catapult himself up the prelim stage table and briefly take the lead.

Canadian Open Chess Championship 2022 LIVE

The 2022 Canadian Open Chess Championship takes place from 11 – 17 July at the Hillfield Strathallan College, Hamilton, Ontario. The event is played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with nearly 250 players fighting for the total prize fund of 26.000$.

The Winner of the Championship will pocket a money-prize of 8.000$. The time control of the event is: 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes for remainder of game with 30 second Fischer increment from move one.

15 year old Christopher Yoo is now the youngest in the top 20 junior list

Christopher Yoo has officially entered the Junior top 20 rating list. At the ongoing US junior chess championship, Christopher Yoo has gained 15,1 rating points and is currently at his all time high 2565 ELO.
