16-year-old Indian chess prodigy Dommaraju Gukesh is the youngest Indian chess player who became Grandmaster at the age of 12 years, 7 months and 17 days, and he is the youngest Indian to break into World Top 100. Today, Gukesh broke another record as he became the youngest Indian chess player to cross 2700.

The International Chess Forum Moscow Open 2022 takes place from 14-20 July in the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Center. The program includes open tournaments for men and women, stages of the Cup of Russia, as well as stages of the Children’s Cup of Russia.

The 41st Benasque Chess Open took place from 6-15 July 2022 in Benasque, Spain. The event attracted nearly 400 entries from 25 countries who fought over 10 swiss rounds for a total prize fund of 18.000 euros.
