The “ChessMood” International Open Chess Tournament will take place from September 29 to October 09 at the 5 star Tsaghkadzor Marriott Hotel in Armenia.

Uganda Olympiad Qualifiers event, determining the composition of both Women’s and Men’s Uganda Teams, took place in March this year. The event had 14 players in both Open and Women’s sections who battled it out through 13 rounds played in a round-robin system. The top five players of each section made it to the team and will represent Uganda in the 2022 Chess Olympiad in Chennai.

The Chess in school conference under the name “Chess: a Game to be spread in Schools” (CGS) has started in Zurich and takes place on 14th of May, in Dorint Airport Hotel.

GM Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all times, yesterday paid a visit to the Real Madrid home stadium Santiago Bernabéu. The President of Real Madrid CF, Florentino Perez, hosted the chess legend presenting her the Real Madrid shirt holding her name. Judit Polgar later followed the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Levante together with 38000 visitors, enjoying the hometeam’s victory of 6-0.

Day 8 of the Superbet Chess Classic Romania was another eventful day, despite it only providing one decisive result in the game between GM’s Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Leinier Dominguez, which ended in favor of the latter. The most thrilling game of the round was the one between GM’s Ian Nepomniachtchi and Levon Aronian, which brought a topsy-turvy rollercoaster of emotions for the spectators.

23-year-old WFM Ailen Oriana Mena from Curaçao (an island belonging to Netherlands Antilles – an autonomous Caribbean country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands) was a Women’s Curaçao National Champion for six consecutive times (2013-2018) and she is one of the best rated women players of Netherlands Antilles.

The world’s top two chess stars go head-to-head in the Chessable Masters next week – the fourth leg of the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. The eight-day Chessable Masters starts on May 19. A prize pot of up to $150,000 is up for grabs and two qualifying spots for the next Tour Major.

The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 takes place from 28th July – 10th August in Chennai, India, and 100 countries already registered for the event.

The Chess Four (Schackfyran) is one of the world’s largest chess competitions organized for the fourth-grade kids and has, since its inception in 1978, taught half a million 10-year-olds to play chess. 25000 kids every year take part in the event through the qualifying competitions and the national finals.

The Italian Summer Chess Tour 2022 features six open tournaments taking place one after another from May 16 – June 11, with a total prize fund of 35.000e.
