The 15th European Chess Solving Championship 2022 took place on 14-15 May in Riga, Latvia. The event included five categories: Team, Individual, Juniors, Seniors and Women.

Russian International Master Andrei Obodchuk won the 21st IPCA World Individual Chess Championship which concluded today in Ashdod, Israel. Obodchuk stroke back after a loss in the fifth round and scored 7.5/9 points to be the sole Winner of the event. Replay the games here

The FIDE Zonal 2.3 Chess Championship 2022 took place from 25-30 March in the city of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. The event attracted 65 entries from 13 countries who played a 9 rounds swiss tournament.

The 2022 Open and Women National Chess Championships of Jamaica took place from 7-15 May in Kingston. 12 players in the Open section and 8 players in the Women’s section battled it out to clinch the title of National Champions.

The Tunisian Women’s Chess Championship 2022 took place from 7-15 May in city of Hammamet, simultaneously with the 2022 Tunisian Chess Championship for Men.

More than 500 kids from 16 FEDAC schools in Catalonia crowded the central street of Catalonian town Berga during the 1st “Eskcmat” event. The festival promoted Chess in School programs that are successfully implemented in FEDAC schools where chess is taught as a complementary activity during school hours. The series of the Grand Chess Tour 2022 events continues from 17-20 May with the Grand Chess Tour Poland 2022 in Warsaw. 23-year-old IM Ismayil Shahaliyev convincingly won the Nakhchivan International Chess Tournament 2022. Shahaliyev scored fantastic 8.5/9 points, drawing only against GM Vugar Rasulov who claimed second place with 8/9 points.

The Rio Negro International Chess Tournament 2022 took place from 11-15 May in the Argentinian city of Cipolletto.

The Tunisian Chess Championship 2022 took place from 7-15 May, 2022 in the city of Hammamet. Twelve players competed in the 11 rounds round robin event for the title of Tunisian National Champion.
