FIDE Congress and General Assembly will be held simultaneously with the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 in Chennai, India between 31 July 2022 and 09 August. This year, the FIDE Congress includes FIDE elections which will be completed on 7-8 August.
The FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships 2022, a tournament organized by FIDE, the Georgian Chess Federation and the Georgian Chess Club “64”, will take place in Batumi, Georgia from September 15-28, 2022. After yesterday’s rest day the players seemed fresh and ready for a day of exhilarating chess on Day 6 of the Superbet Chess Classic Romania. Today’s round brought entertaining games with plenty of drama and even some disaster, along with a few tenacious and close battles.
Two and a half months before the start of the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022, first ever to be held in India, already 100 countries registered for the competition. 101 teams are registered in the Open section and 86 teams confirmed participation in the Women’s section. (scroll down for the full story)
