A traditional Russia-China Junior Match of Friendship will be held at the Siberia Sanatorium (Altai Krai, Belokurikha) from July 14th till July 18th.

The competition includes:

• A match between junior teams of Russia and China. Each team consists of 8 chess players (including at least 2 girls) born in 2004 or later.

The skilled and competitive new generation of chess talent will compete for the U.S. Junior and U.S. Girls’ Junior Chess Championship titles at the Saint Louis Chess Club from July 11-21, 2018.

The 2nd European Chess Union Board meeting in 2018 took place on the 7th of July in Bucharest, Romania. The meeting was held under excellent conditions in the Marshal Garden Hotel.

The President of the Romanian Chess federation Mr. Sorin-Αvram Iacoban and the ECU Deputy President Mr. Ion Dobronauteanu welcomed the ECU Board members to Bucharest for the second time during the last four years.

The Dutch Championship was an 8-player round-robin tournament taking place from 2-8 July 2018 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The European School Chess Championship 2018 took place from 29th June-8th July in Krakow, Poland.

The A-Open of the Najdorf Chess Festival is a 9-round Swiss tournament taking place in the Warsaw Sports and Recreation Centre, Poland from 8-16 July.

The Slovakian Championship – Open is a 9-round Swiss tournament taking place from 7-15 July 2018 in Banska Stiavnica. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.
