Emilio Cordova from Peru is crowned American Continental Champion after winning the tournament in El Salvador with 9,0/11 points.

Grandmaster Ivan Ivanisevic from Serbia has won the main section of the 35th Zalakaros Chess Festival that was held from 27th May to 4th June, 2016, in Zalakaros, Hungary.

The event was organized by the Hungarian Chess Federation and Zalakaros City Council, under the patronage of Mr. Tamás Seszták, President of the Hungarian Chess Federation, and Mr. Ferenc Novák, Mayor of Zalakaros.

The 21-years old Grandmaster Denis Kadric delighted the local fans in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, winning the 46th International Tournament “Bosna 2016″ that was held from 28th May to 3rd June.

Kadric took a clear first place with 7,5/9 points in the field of 132 players from 12 countries.

Ukrainian Grandmaster and former World Champion Anna Ushenina (2450) added another prestigious trophy to her collection – the title of European Champion!

She triumphed at the recently ended 17th European Individual Women’s Chess Championship, which took place in Mamaia, Romania from 26th May to 8th June.

The first leg of the 2016 Grand Chess Tour is set to take place from 9-12th June at La Maison de la Chimie in Paris, France. Ten Grandmasters will compete in the round robin rapid on 9-10th June and double round robin blitz on 11-12th June. The total prize fund is $150,000.
