The Manaus Chess Open 2024 is being held from October 11 to October 17 in the city of Manaus, Brazil. The tournament features 127 players competing in 9 rounds of Swiss. The 24th European Women’s Chess Championship will take place from 30 March to 12 April 2025 in Rhodes, Greece.

The event is open to all women players representing national federations listed as ECU members, without rating or title limitations. The Championship will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, plus 30 minutes until the end of the game, with 30-second increment for each move starting from move one. The official hotel and the playing venue of the event is *****Rodos Palace Conference Hotel.

The Marshall Chess Club FIDE Premier October 2024 is being held from October 5 to October 7 in New York City, USA. The 36 competitors face off in 5 rounds of Swiss. The world’s top chess players battle it out at the WR Chess Masters 2024. In an iconic five-star location, 16 of the brightest stars of our sport will gather to compete for the title in an innovative format. The tournament will be played as a knockout, the time control for each game is 60 min for the first 30 moves, 30 min for the next 20 moves and 30 min for the rest of the game. The world’s top chess players battle it out at the WR Chess Masters Cup! In an iconic five-star location, 16 of the brightest stars of our sport will gather to compete for the title in an innovative format. The tournament will be played as a knockout, two games a day with a fast time control.

The WR Chess Masters Cup is set to take place from October 14th to 18th, 2024, at the prestigious Langham Hotel in London. As the second edition of the WR Chess Masters series, this event will feature 16 elite players competing in a knockout tournament.

This year’s edition of the US Chess Championship 2024 will be possibly the strongest in history, with the full Olympic team of USA participating and the field headed by the reigning US Chess Champion Fabiano Caruana. The only big gun missing is Hikaru Nakamura, who is dedicated to his live streaming career and it is most likely that we see him comment live on video the event. The show is guaranteed as Hans Niemann returns to Saint Louis, while multiple players from the underdogs can bring surprises.

In the ongoing Icelandic Chess Championship 2024, 10 year old Karma Halldorsson defeated 91 year old Gunnar Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson is an ex-champion of Iceland and an active chess player.

The Tsaghkadzor Chess Open 2024,held from September 30 to October 6 in Armenia, has concluded in victory for GM Venkataraman Karthik. After 9 rounds of Swiss, the Indian GM scored 7.5 points, a full point ahead of the other competitors on the podium – GMs Igor Lysij and Erik Hakobyan.
