The American Cup 2023 is an 8-player double elimination knockout taking place from 16-26 March at the St. Louis Chess Club. The matches will be played over two classical (90min + 30s increment) games in the Champions and two rapid (25+10) games in the Elimination bracket. If tied, rapid (10+5) playoffs are held and, if still tied, an Armageddon game (5 vs 4 minutes, with draw odds for Black). In the end the winner of the Champions bracket will face the winner of the Elimination bracket.

The 27 Hit open 2023 will take place from 16-23 March 2023 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. The time control is 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. The tournament is separated in two categories – HIT-A and HIT-B and has total prize fund of 5650 EUR.

The 30th Charlotte GM/IM Norm Invitational will be March 15-19, 2023. There will be 1 GM group and 2 IM groups.The time control is 90 minutes and 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

The 23^rd edition of the European Women’s Individual Chess Championship 2023 takes place from 17th-30th March in Hotel “Palas” Petrovac, Montenegro. The Championship will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with the time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds for every move starting from move 1.

The Ramat Gan Masters A Winter 2023 is taking place in Ramt Gan, Israel. The time control is 90 minutes and 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.  It is 7-round Swiss system tournament with participation of Ilya Karp, Pavel Chernomordik, Reem Sherman, Eyal Noy, David Gershkowich, Yonathan Uritsky, Guy Rozen, Ronit Levitan, Or Gavriely, etc.

GM Alexey Sarana is the new European Individual Chess Champion 2023! The thrilling last round of the championship determined the medalists. GM Alexey Sarana (FIDE, 2668) and GM Kirill Shevchenko (ROU, 2668) met each other in the direct last-round encounter for the first place. The game finished in a draw after one hour of play, and the two youngsters waited for other results and tiebreak criteria to see the final standings.

The 49º Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez de La Roda 2023 will take place from 5-9 April 2023 in La Roda (Albacete), Spain. The time control is 90 minutes and 30 seconds per move, starting from move one. The prize fund is 15 000 EUR with 3500 EUR guaranted for the winner.  The top five seeds are GM S.L.

The 2023 Excelsior March GM Norm will take place from 13-17 March 2023 in Toronto, Canada. The time control is 90 minutes and 30 seconds per move, starting from move one. It is 9-round Robin tournament with participation of Victor Mikhalevski, Gabor Nagy, Nikolay Noritsyn, Luis Fernando Ibarra Chami, Joshua Posthuma, Bator Sambuev, Mark Plotkin, Anthony Atanasov, Mike Ivanov and Zachary Dukic.
