Stockholm Championship 2023

The Stockhol Championship 2023 will take place from 06 of March to 29 of May 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one. This is a 9- round Swiss System tournament.

2nd Lumezzane International Chess Festival 2023

THe 2nd Lumezzane International Chess Festival 2023 will take place from 10-12 March 2023 in Lumezzane, Italy. The tournament system is 6-round Swiss with time control 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. 
This tournament is separated in 2 cattegories – Elite and Challenge. The total prize fund of Elite section os 3500 EUR with 1000 EUR guaranted for the winner.

THe 6th Sharjah Masters 2023 – Challengers section will take place from 16-26 March 2023 in Sharjah, UAE. The tournament system is 9-round Swiss with time control 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. 

Kramnik on the war: empty vanity fair

In a first of a kind interview for agesspiegel, cited by Chessbase, Kramnik opened about his views on the war. Kramnik says he is against all wars a priori and shares a lot of what he indirectly implied in the past months, but also keeps more for later saying, “I will express my views on this tragic situation WHEN I decide to do so, but only after this empty vanity fair and witch hunt, which I must admit makes me quite angry,”

The 6th Sharjah Masters 2023 will take place from 16-26 March 2023 in Sharjah, UAE. The tournament system is 9-round Swiss with time control 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. 

Kramnik shares thoughts on the Russia – Ukraine war

Vladimir Kramnik decided to open on the current situation on the Russia – Ukraine war. In an interview for the German Tagesspiegel, cited by Chessbase, Kramnik opened about what he had implied indirectly for months. “I am against ALL wars A PRIORI, without exception, but I do not see much point in publicly expressing this obvious idea. Except to seek public applause,” shares the ex-World Champion.

WGM Mediterranean Flowers 2023 – LIVE

The WGM Mediterranean Flowers 2023 is taking place from 5–11 March 2023 in Rijeka, Croatia. Players receive 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is a 10-player round-robin tournament with participation of Anastasiya Rakhmangulova, Ana Berke, Viktoria Radeva, Barbara Skuhala, Nadya Toncheva, Mirjana Medic, Maria Manakova, Tihana Ivekovic, Evgeniya Doluhanova and Petra Kejzar.

Young players and legends top the European Individual Chess 2023

Eleven players continue with perfect score after round 3 of the European Individual Chess Championship. Nguyen Thai Dai Van, Vahap Sanal, Stamatis Kourkoulos-Arditis, Eltaj Safarli, Dimitrios Mastrovasilis, Denis Kadric, Grzegorz Nasuta, Anton Korobov, Ido Gorshtein, Nikolozi Kacharava, and the ex-World Champion Ruslan Ponomariov are leading with 3,0/3.

Reykjavik Open 2023

The Reykjavik Open 2023 is takimg place from March 29th – April 4th. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one. This is a 9- round Swiss System tournament.

More than 150 players will participate in Reykjavik Open 2023, leaded by GM Vasyl Ivanchuk, GM Nils Grandelius, GM Mustafa Yilmaz, GM Abhijeet Gupta, GM Tamas Banusz. The total prize fund is 16,000 EUR as follow:

The WGM Cvijet Mediterana 2023 is taking place from 05.-11.03.2023 in Rijeka, Croatia.The time control is 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. This is a 9- Round Robin tournament with the participation of: Evgeniya Doluhanova, Viktoria Radeva, Mirjana Medić, Anastasiya Rakhmangulova, Maria Manakova, Nadya Toncheva, Ana Berke, Tihana Iveković, Barbara Skuhala and Petra Kejžar.

The prize fund is as follow:
