VIII FE “Pasqua a Montesilvano” 2023

The VIII FE “Pasqua a Montesilvano” 2023 will take place from 7-10 April 2023 in Montesilvano (PE), Italy. The time control is 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. The tournament is separated in three categories – Group A, Groub and Group C.

Open A section is 6-round Swiss system tournament and will participate Olga Zimina, Carlo D’amore, Antonio Loiacono, Nicolo Pasini, Aleksandra Dimitrijevic, Melissa Maione, Giorgio Gola, Gaia Paolillo, etc.

The European Women’s Chess Championship 2023 will take place from 17-30 March 2023 in Petrovac, Montenegro. The event is open for all women players from National Chess Federations members of the European Chess Union (ECU) without rating or title limitations and according to the decisions of the ECU Board and General Assembly. 

Carlsen’s Last Dance: Chessable Masters marks end of an era for World Champion

Chess.com’s $2 million Champions Chess Tour will return with the largest ever edition of the Chessable Masters, it was announced today.

The tournament, sponsored by chess.com e-learning specialist, will run from April 4 to 7 with $235,000 and a spot in the Tour Finals at stake. Also at stake is a last chance to beat Magnus Carlsen as World Champion.

Anton Korobov leads European Individual Chess 2023 after R5

GM Anton Korobov (UKR, 2658) emerged as the sole leader of the event with 5/5 points, while four players tie for the second place scoring 4.5 points: IM Stamatis Kourkoulos-Arditis (GRE, 2520), GM Eltaj Safarli (AZE, 2608), GM Thai Dai Van Nguyen (CZE, 2651), and GM Giga Quparadze (GEO, 2483).

Korobov, Ponomariov and Safarli in the lead at the European Individual Chess Championship 2023

Four rounds have already been played at the European Individual Chess Championship 2023 in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia, and only three players emerged on the top with 4/4 points: GM Anton Korobov (UKR, 2658), GM Ruslan Ponomariov (UKR, 2655), and GM Eltaj Safarli (AZE, 2608). The leading trio is followed by a group of 23 players with score of 3.5/4 points (each).

Evgeny Postny wins Ramat Gan Purium 2023

The Ramat Gan Purim Rapid was played this March 6th in Ramat Gan, Israel. GM Evgeny Postny finished with 5,0/5, a full point ahead of the second placed Ukranian player IM Anton Sitnikov.
