GM Vahap Sanal and WGM Teodora Injac replay the Nepo-Nakamura 7-minute game

Turkish grandmaster Vahap Sanal and Serbian Women grandmaster Teodora Injac today played against each other at the 2022 Serbia Chess Open in Novi Sad. 24-year-old Vahap and 22-year-old Teodora are a charming couple who today took the role of the chess opponents.

Swedish Chess Championships 2022 kicked off in Uppsala

The 2022 Swedish Chess Championships (Championship, Masters Elite, Masters, Seniors 50+, Seniors 65+ and Juniors) kicked off yesterday in Uppsala, Sweden. The events are played from 1-10 July, with Championship and Masters Elite groups being played as 10-player round-robin events, while the Masters, Seniors 50+, Seniors 65+ and Juniors events are played in 9 rounds, swiss system.

127th Scottish Chess Championship

The 127th Scottish Chess Championship takes place from 2-10 July 2022 at Edinburgh Chess Club in Edinburgh. The event is played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with participation of 16 players who fight for the title of the National Champion.

The battlefield is led by IM Angus Dunnington, IM Douglas Bryson and FM Keith Ruxton. (scroll down for starting rank list). The time control of the event is: 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

Anish Giri arrives in Madrid, looking for Nakamura to play some chess

Anish Giri yesterday announced he will travel to Madrid to look for Hikaru Nakamura. As Anish informs on his official Twitter account, he’s arrived in Madrid’s park, but Nakamura has already left.

44th Chess Olympiad 2022 – Participants lists

The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 will take place from July 28th to August 10th in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. With 187 teams registered in Men’s competition and 162 teams registered in the Women’s competition, the 2022 Chennai Olympiad breaks the record previously set in the Batumi, 2018.
