The 2nd tournament of the FIDE Women’s Grand-Prix 2015-2016 will take place from 10-24 February, 2016, in Tehran, Iran.

The 2nd European Small Nations Individual Chess Championship is set to take place from 1-11th April, 2016, in Luxembourg.

The contract for the organization was signed by the ECU Secretary General, Mr. Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou and the President of the Luxembourg Chess Federation, Mr. Pierre Fattebene.

The 1st Lviv Chess Tradition Tournament 2016 is a 12-player IM-group round robin tournament, which takes place from January 25-31, at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, situated in western Ukraine.

The event is a second category closed tournament, valid for FIDE rating and norms. The tempo of play is 90′ + 30″ and the average Elo rating is 2285.

The FIDE Rapid Marathon will be held on FOA platform hosted on web address: http://arena.myfide.net from February 12th 2016 to February 14th 2016. It is open to all platform members with rapid rating.

Grandmaster Belous Vladimir (Russia) emerged the Chennai Open 2016 Champion with 8.5 points after the tenth and final round of the 8th Chennai Open International Grandmaster Chess tournament 2016 for Sakthi Group Dr N Mahalingam trophy, held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

The 2016 Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival is taking place from January 25th to February 4, at the Caleta Hotel in Gibraltar.

Congratulations to WGM Xiaobing Gu, winner of the Australian Women’s Masters 2016! Although first place had been decided before the last day, many of the players still had plenty to play for in round 9, with the minor placings a potential WIM norm on the line!
