Hikaru Nakamura: Revenge is sweet!

Hikaru Nakamura published his recap video of the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022 Round 8 sending a message: “Revenge is SWEET!!“. Nakamura won a thrilling game against Fabiano Caruana, having a completely winning position most of the time. Caruana fought till the very end, but eventually couldn’t escape, and Hikaru got his revenge for the R1 loss.

Diego Simeone plays chess with his son, but something is seriously wrong #TweetOftheDay

Argentine football manager and former football player Diego (El Cholo) Simeone is spotted playing chess with his son Giovanni Simeone at a beautiful sandy beach. ESPN World sports news tweeted about the vacation of Simeone’s family and how they spend it playing the game which requires full concentration. However, something is seriously wrong. The board is set wrong and Diego is missing his King on the board.

Fabiano Caruana: “Rapport-Nepo game really upset me”

Fabiano Caruana yesterday won his R7 Candidates 2022 game against Teimour Radjabov to continue trailing the leader Ian Nepomniachtchi by half a point. While Caruana played “the most difficult game he played in a long time“, Nepo defeated Rapport much simpler, as Rapport refused to repeat the moves for a draw and went into a clearly worse position which shortly after fell apart.

The Silver Lake Chess Festival 2022 took place from 19-26th June, 2022, at the Silver Lake “Sports hall” and “Great hall” of Danubia Park Hotel. The Organizing Committee prepared a rich programme for all ages and playing levels: Open “A” tournament (for players rated over 2100 FIDE), Open “B” tournament (for players rated under 2200 FIDE) and Blitz FIDE rated tournament.
