Nakamura unhappy with the security procedures at FIDE Candidates Tournament

The American grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura seems unhappy with the security check procedure at the FIDE Candidates tournament 2022. Just a few minutes before the start of the 4th round, Nakamura’s wallet was scanned with a metal detector and he had to show all the credit cards in the wallet.

GM Maurice Ashley talks about his first Candidates trip as a chess fan

GM Maurice Ashley is a Jamaican-American chess player, author, and commentator. He traveled to FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 as a chess fan and joined the Saint Louis Chess Club broadcast with GM Alejandro Ramirez and GM Yasser Seirawan to share his experience from the trip. “Madrid is fantastic! Nigel Short has announced his resignation as FIDE Vice-President with immediate effect. Since since October 2018, Nigel Short was serving as Vice-president of FIDE in the Arkadij Dvorkovich administration.
