Everything is ready for the start of the most anticipated tournament of 2022 – the FIDE Candidates Chess. The Opening Press Conference announced the start of the competition which will be officially opened tonight at 19:00 CET.

European Corporate Chess Championship 2022 starts in Rotterdam

The 2022 European Corporate Chess Championship takes place over the weekend 18-19 June in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The tournament is played on a luxury cruise ship of Royal Spido (named James Cook), while sailing in the Rotterdam harbour. 17 teams will participate in the event which will be played in 9 rounds, Swiss system, with time control: 15 minutes for the whole game, plus 5 seconds of an increment starting from the move one.

German grandmaster Alexander Donchenko scored incredible 7/7 points playing the first table for Vandoeuvre-Echecs team at the French Top 16 Team Championship. The team finished in 4th place after the pool stage of the event, but attracted lots of attention thanks to the Board 1 team’s leader.
