GM Shant Sargsyan is the Winner of 13th Karen Asrian Memorial

Young chess players dominated the 13th edition of the Karen Asrian Memorial which took place from 6th-16th June in Yerevan. 20-year-old Armenian grandmaster Shant Sargsyan won the event, scoring unbeaten 7.5/9 points for the sole first place.

34th International Open Tournament Pula 2022

The 34th edition of the International Chess Tournament “Open Pula 2022” will take place from 18-26 June at Park Plaza Histria Hotel in Pula, Croatia. Almost 200 players from 28 countries registered for the event which will be played in 9 rounds, swiss system, featuring the prize fund of 6.250 euros with 1.000 euros reserved for the Winner of the event.

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi will launch the first-ever Chess Olympiad Torch Relay, announced All India Chess Federation today. The ceremony will take place on the 19th of June at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.

Richard Rapport is off to Madrid for Candidates Chess 2022

Richard Rapport is now on his way to Madrid where he will participate in the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022. He posted the traveling photo with famous Serbian grandmaster Ljubomir Ljubojevic, who successfully competed against World Champions Garry Kasparov, Anatoly Karpov, and Viswanathan Anand, but never succeeded in reaching the Candidates Tournament stage of the World Championship cycle.
